Creative Media Internship
Bella’s Voice is excited to offer a Creative Media Internship designed to help undergraduate students and working professionals gain practical skills and knowledge about media and communications in the nonprofit sector.
As an intern, you’ll contribute to meaningful, creative projects that align with your academic or professional focus while exploring your career interests in a mission-driven environment. This flexible, part-time internship is a great opportunity to build your resume, expand your professional network, and gain hands-on experience.
Interns will assist in the development, implementation, and analysis of creative content and communication strategies. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director for check-ins, feedback, and mentorship while helping to shape the direction of the organization’s branding and media outreach. Interns will meet with the Creative Director for at least one (1) hour each week to discuss project updates, review learning objectives, brainstorm new content ideas,

| Potential* Responsibilities: Social Media • Assist in brainstorming and developing creative campaigns or social content (posts, stories, reels). • Draft and schedule engaging posts for platforms like Instagram and Facebook. • Design media templates or assets for recurring events and animal campaigns. • Participate in tracking/analyzing analytics of successful content to build an extensive media calendar. • Research relevant trends, hashtags, and music to inspire campaigns. Marketing & Outreach • Design graphics for social media, print, or web using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud. • Write copy for email newsletters, flyers, and web content. • Design branded merchandise (such as stickers, lanyards, beanies, pins, magnets, calendars, etc.). • Draft mockups for promotional materials (e.g., retractable posters, event canopies). • Design print flyers and posters for event and animal campaigns. Other Media • Participate in team discussions around branding and storytelling. • Assist in documenting workflows and creating simple how-to guides. • Contribute to website redesigns, content updates, SEO, and UI/UX overhaul. • Capture behind-the-scenes content during events and/or while visiting animal rescues. • Edit previously captured photo/video to build a content library. • Support filming/editing documentary-style content and planning advertisements. *Interns will not do every task listed—responsibilities and assignments will be tailored to align with our needs and your goals, skills, and academic/professional program. |
| Qualifications: Required • At least 18 years of age. • Detail-oriented, reliable, and organized. • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with a team. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Creative problem solving and visual storytelling skills. • Comfortable working around animals (esp. cats & dogs). • Interest in animal welfare, nonprofits, and/or small businesses. • Fluent in spoken and written English. Preferred • Undergraduate student seeking course credit. • Experience with social media platforms (esp. Instagram & Facebook). • Familiarity with Canva or other design tools. • Photography, videography, and/or DSLR cameras. • Photo editing, video editing, and/or reel creation. • Basic understanding of marketing, communications, or content creation. • Previous volunteer or community service experience. Bonus • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (esp. Lightroom, Photoshop, & Premiere Pro). • Prior use of Meta Business Suite and/or Metricool for content scheduling. • Interest in art, illustration, painting, drawing, etc. (physical and/or digital). • Familiarity with SEO, website design, media analytics, or social media strategy. • Knowledge of graphic design principles. • Spanish language skills (spoken and/or written). |
| Location: Hybrid (Remote & On-Site); 2-4 hr/week required at our Lynnwood location |
| Schedule: Flexible (Start Date and Schedule); 8-10 hr/week; 10-12 weeks |
