At Bella’s Voice, our leadership team is guided by compassion, community, and a deep love for animals.
From overseeing daily operations to developing impactful programs, and from supporting our staff and volunteers to designing meaningful content, each director brings their unique skills, perspectives, and a shared commitment to service. Our team hopes to empower others to take action and make a difference.
Meet Bella
Our beautiful Persian girl is a cat with a story as special as her fluffy coat and white whiskers.
From the moment we saw her at the shelter, we knew that she was meant to be part of our family. But once we brought her home, we learned that Bella had chronic health issues caused by unethical breeding. With gentle care, endless snuggles, and more vet visits than we can count, Bella slowly healed, fully transforming into a joyful and affectionate kitty.
Bella is our daily reminder of resilience, and that every animal deserves a chance to be cherished. She inspires us as we work to give animals care, compassion, and a voice. Bella didn’t just find a home—she made us better humans.

Cami Ovena
Managing Director & Store Manager – Shoreline
Cami is from Edmonds, WA and is a founding member of Bella’s Voice! She is an experienced manager, full of leadership, curiosity, and compassion, and a proud recipient of the Golden Acorn Award for PTA volunteer work. Cami is motivated daily by the countless individuals who devote their lives to animal welfare! She enjoys traveling with her kids, exploring vegan restaurants, and can often be found with a sci-fi or fantasy book in hand. At home, her two beloved dogs, Baxter (13) and Kenzo (2), rule the house as best pals, but she dreams of one day having space to share with pigs, goats, and a rooster (or ten)!

Emmanuel Bustamante
Facilities Manager
Whether he’s tackling projects, solving problems, or finding smarter (and less chaotic) ways to keep our facilities running, Emmanuel has brought a unique perspective and deep empathy to our team since 2014. Born in Mexico and raised in the US, he embraces new opportunities and finds purpose in becoming the best version of himself. He enjoys video games and board games—but his greatest achievement? A loving relationship with his wife… though an indoor Jacuzzi would be pretty great, too!
James Shepard
Program Director
What started as volunteering for James became a career centered on building a stronger, more connected community! As part of the Bella’s Voice team, he’s inspired by those who show up for others—especially when it’s not easy or convenient—and values everyday acts of kindness. He’s gifted at drawing out the personalities of pets who need affection on their own terms or who make friends at their own pace, like his own two dogs, Zaria (10) and Grunt (13). James loves attending conventions and often cosplays; he also enjoys horror movies, reading comic books, and spending time at the beach—he wants to learn to surf someday!

Addy Mangum
Creative Director
When Addy isn’t chasing the perfect shot, she’s probably designing posters, updating the website, or posting on social media! She believes humans are natural storytellers and loves turning ideas into experiences. A seasoned director, producer, and editor, she received a 2023 Gold Signal Award for a nonfiction podcast and has collaborated on documentaries, photo essays, and soundscapes. Growing up across the USA sparked her curiosity for culture and creativity, and as a trilingual, she travels solo, exploring the world. She also enjoys skiing, dancing the Lindy Hop, playing marimba, and driving a yellow MGB. At home, her aquarium is run by her bossy betta, Marconi (2).
