Charities of the Month
We team up each month with an animal nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest to support their mission.
Throughout the month, we host special events for the community to get to know these organizations—and sometimes even their adorable animals! On a single day, we donate 50% of our sales directly to them. Join us as we raise funds on their behalf!

Homeward Pet Adoption Center

To transform the lives of cats and dogs in need through compassionate medical care, positive behavior training, and successful adoption while building a more humane community.
We are one of the leading nonprofit, no-kill animal shelters in Washington State.
We partner with shelters, rescue groups, and families in Washington State to find new, permanent homes for every homeless dog and cat we take in, and do our best to provide our adopters the information and assistance they need to make each adoption a success. For animals that may not be good candidates for adoption, we work to find alternatives including sanctuary and hospice care.

FERAL CAT SPAY/NEUTER PROJECT

To save the lives of cats by providing access to high volume spay/neuter surgery in a safe, high quality, humane environment.
All homeless cats that arrive for surgery receive a basic health exam, rabies vaccination, and ear tip to clearly identify the cat as altered to avoid future trapping/transport. However, we also offer spay/neuter services for any cat needing access to surgery, which are done without ear tipping and are part of our feral cat prevention program.
The average cost to alter one cat is just over $130, including the costs for the surgeon, veterinary technician, anesthesia, sutures, pain relief, surgical pack, and rabies vaccine. During a clinic, 30-40 cats are altered.

ROOSTER HAUS RESCUE

To give neglected and abused farmed animals a safe future, free from harm.
Our primary focus is to rescue, rehabilitate, and give permanent sanctuary to the underdogs: roosters and animals with special needs. We believe in ending all animal abuse and exploitation and follows a way of life guided by vegan principles.
The best way to help animals is to educate yourself about the reality of animal agriculture and exploitation, make changes in your lifestyle to alleviate the suffering of animals that these systems perpetuate, and educate others to do the same.
IMAGINE PEACE FOR PUPS

To combat the heartbreaking statistic of dogs euthanized in shelters.
According to the ASPCA, 670,000 dogs are euthanized every year. This number will reduce significantly if more people adopt pups instead of buy them. When you donate, you enable us to save more dogs from abusive situations, homelessness, and euthanasia.
We strive to help save these dogs, but we rely solely on private donations to operate their rescue. Transportation is a considerable monetary factor as almost all of the pups are rescued from Central and Southern California.
When you adopt, you save an animal in need by making them a part of your family, and by giving them the love they deserve.
ELF SANCTUARY

To provide a safe haven for survivors of the animal agriculture industry and educate the public on animal rights issues.
We are a true animal sanctuary, meaning we provide lifetime care to the best of our ability. Our rescues were destined for slaughter or a life of isolation, abuse, and exploitation. Here, they are allowed to live out their lives freely and are more than just a commodity or a tag number.
Our residence includes chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, and cows, along with a changing variety of humans, dogs, and cats. All donations go towards food, vet care, housing and general maintenance of all of our rescue animals.
HEARTWOOD HAVEN

To fight against the disastrous effects of animal cruelty through rescue, education, and sanctuary to promote a more compassionate world for animals and humans.
We exist to rescue animals from cruelty, abuse, and neglect, to rehabilitate those animals when possible to find them suitable forever homes, to care for them at the sanctuary if they are not adoptable, and to educate the public about the plight of farm animals.
We have rescued over 200 animals, with a focus on special needs animals as well as those who are abused, neglected, or likely to be killed. We provide sanctuary to a variety of species of farm animals as well as dogs and cats. If there is ever an animal in need we will always offer them a safe and loving home. We also host foster, adoption, and tour events.

SEATTLE AREA FELINE RESCUE

To save feline lives by taking in homeless cats, giving them the care they need, finding them loving homes, and supporting their human companions.
We believe each cat has inherent value and that humans and felines enrich each other’s lives. This bond builds compassionate communities with empathy for all living things.
We are a no-kill rescue that takes in homeless cats and kittens, giving them the care they need to recover while we find them loving homes. Over 2,000 felines, including seniors and special needs cats, find homes at SAFe during a typical year as people in search of new friends visit our adoption center.
We are proud to have an extensive network of community volunteers, foster families, and generous donors that help the rescue save more lives.
PAWSITIVE ALLIANCE

To help end the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in Washington by increasing adoptions, supporting spay and neuter programs, and improving pet retention.
We are a volunteer-driven organization that works with rescue groups and shelter organizations, individuals, and businesses throughout Washington State who want to help vulnerable cats and dogs. Though we do not take in animals, we fill gaps in services, make connections, and start programs to help more cats and dogs thrive.
We help animal adoption agencies in Washington State find homes for the dogs and cats in their care by increasing adoption opportunities through events and our #WhyNotMePets campaign, which focuses on increasing the attention to special needs cats and dogs who need a helping paw to find a forever home.
SAVE-A-MUTT

To place dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in a forever home.
We are passionate about relocating moms and puppies from high-kill California shelters, and working with our rescue team in California that save and foster these families until transport can be arranged. Once in Washington State, we provide quarantine, fostering and vet care.
We assist our area shelters so rescues can find wonderful homes for seniors. Adopting a senior dog is so rewarding, and takes a very special home, a very special heart. Also, with our Last Litter Program, mom dogs will be spayed, and if needed, vaccinated and microchipped free of charge. With fundraisers, adoptions and donations we are able to save hundreds of dogs each year.
COMMUNITY CAT COALITION

To enhance the lives of community cats by promoting spay/neuter and providing training and mentoring in trap-neuter-return.
We believe that compassionate solutions to cat overpopulation help our communities as well as the cats. Today, we improve the lives of community cats through education, spay/neuter, and support for the volunteers doing TNR (trap-neuter-return) in our neighborhoods and towns.
Supporting homeless community cats is our passion, and spay/neuter remains the most humane and effective way of combating cat overpopulation. We also provide our members veterinary medical supplies including vaccines, SNAP tests, flea and worming treatment, and veterinarian approved medications to support community cats.
PO Box 1236, Mukilteo, WA 98275
FORGOTTEN DOGS RESCUE

To save and advocate for homeless and medical needs dogs of Washington State, by placing them in safe and loving foster homes, and ultimately matching them with the perfect forever family.
Dogs are abandoned at shelters through no fault of their own. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs who were surrendered by their owners due to difficult circumstances or are in danger of abuse or neglect.
We save the dogs that need help the most, the dogs whose time has run out, the dogs who have lost all hope—the forgotten dogs. Although there are dogs of all types in Washington State shelters, we focus primarily on larger bully breed dogs. There are more pit bulls and pit bull mixes in shelters than any other type of dog, and they are in the most danger of being euthanized. They suffer from discrimination, misrepresentation, and misunderstanding.
We make a promise to all of our dogs that they will never be forgotten again. We place dogs in safe and loving foster homes, helping a dog grow into its full potential. Dogs have individual needs and personalities, so when it is time to find their forever family, we work hard to match adopters with the dog that fits their lifestyle. While some of our dogs may have had sad beginnings, we make sure the rest of their life is full of health and happiness.
THE NOAH CENTER

To stop the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable, and treatable homeless cats and dogs through our adoption and low-cost spay/neuter programs.
We are committed to family-friendly pet adoptions, humane education, volunteer programs, and high-quality spay/neuter programs for low-income residents.
We believe that the companionship of a furry friend is priceless, and are here to help make it a possibility for all. We have saved the lives of over 54,000 homeless cats and dogs, matching them with their forever homes, and provided spay and neuter surgeries for almost 155,000 pets.
Donations ensure that each pet has access to lifesaving care and medical treatment, plus provide spay/neuter surgeries. Adopting a pet saves 2 lives: the pet you adopt, and the one who we now have space to rescue.
WASHINGTON HEALTH OUTREACH

To improve community health by providing free and low cost veterinary, health, and social services for our neighbors.
We envision that all people and pets in Washington State have equitable access to the services, resources, and community they need to be healthy and together.
We offer free and low cost veterinary care for people who are unhoused or with income that does not exceed twice the Federal Poverty Limit.
PO Box 33295, Seattle, WA 98133
MISSPITS RESCUE

To offer a safe space for at-risk dogs and farm animals.
We offer a safe space for farmed animals and assist local agencies on cruelty, neglect, and abandonment cases. We are currently home to horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, birds, and several varieties of reptiles and invertebrates.
As a dog rescue, we focus on at risk dogs such as bully breeds and cattle dogs. Most of our dogs come to us through local shelters.
Our animals are offered routine vet care, quality food, shelter, training, and love. We do not breed, sell, or eat our animal friends—they are not exploited, and their care is not contingent on them giving us anything. We advocate for force-free training, spay/neuter, and respect for all beings.
GREYHOUND PETS INC

To find responsible, loving homes for the greyhounds and greyhound mixes in our care.
We serve Washington State, Northern Oregon, and Southwestern British Columbia in finding homes for ex-racers. Through the efforts of our valued volunteers and benefactors, we provide loving support and veterinary services to the dogs directly in our care. We also provide ongoing resources and education for our adoptive families and the public.
If you want to adopt a greyhound, you should be looking for a house dog and a companion. Greyhounds should not live outside, since they have little body fat nor a thick coat to keep them warm. And, as your best friend, they want to be with you.

RESILIENT HEARTS ANIMAL SANCTUARY

To save animals from high-kill shelters and unite them with their forever families in the Pacific Northwest.
We are an LGBTQ-led organization with a focus on being accessible and inclusive. We believe that there are far too many barriers on the public when it comes to adopting, volunteering with or fostering rescue animals. Resiliency extends far beyond the animals we save, and the lessons learned from their lives are shared to help all of us heal.
While Resilient Hearts operates as an animal rescue first, we have grown into a community gathering space over the last 5 years, extending our own forever family in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. During our weekly public hours, visitors are welcome to come interact with our animals, providing much needed socialization to our animals and therapy to our community.
PRECIOUS LIFE ANIMAL SANCTUARY

To to rescue and provide a safe home for abused, neglected and abandoned farm and companion animals, to teach humane education, and to advocate against practices that perpetuate animal suffering.
After witnessing such suffering and misery, we felt it was imperative to establish a sanctuary to give back to all the animals who have touched our lives and provided so much happiness and inspiration throughout the years.
We have rescued dogs from New Mexico, a puppy mill in Kansas, and local western Washington humane societies. We have also rescued and provided care for large numbers of spayed/neutered feral cats.
We are actively involved in local, state and national animal protection issues.
LILLY’S SAFE HAVEN

To provide a sanctuary for animals, filled with the love, care, respect, and compassion that they deserve.
Animals seek nothing from humans aside from love and affection, yet our world is full of used, abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. We rescue and provide forever sanctuary to these animals by utilizing our community that often reports sightings of abandoned animals.
Ours is a vegan sanctuary where we don’t eat or use any animal products. Because of our atypical model, we don’t qualify for many grants associated with animal rescue groups, so we run primarily off of donations.

All of our rescued animals cohabitate peacefully and have strong friendships with one another. Our sanctuary is home to over 250 rescued animals who have seen the very worst of humanity and every day they amaze us with their profound abilities to love and to be loved, even after the tragedies they have endured. Our goal is to share their stories with the community and bring about positive change in the way they are viewed by society.

All our pigs roam freely, choosing where they sleep, graze, root, and explore. We provide medical care, a healthy diet, a permanent home, and loving kindness. Our other main purpose is to educate the public about the characteristics and needs of pigs, as well as the abuses often associated with exotic pet fads.

FARM HAVEN RESCUE
(CLOSED)

To provide a safe, loving, and happy home for rescued farm animals, to enable connections with these animals so people can recognize them for the individual, curious, and social beings they are, and to connect people to their food, and encourage ways to live kindly.
When we take in an animal, we commit to provide him or her with a safe environment, a healthy diet, access to veterinary care and a place to simply be who they are.
We are also a place where people can interact with our residents on their terms, in a context that invites questions into how humans treat farmed animals and what can be done about it. It is our hope that people come to understand that there is no difference between these animals and their beloved pets at home, and that each is an individual deserving of a long and happy life.
By creating a positive experience, encouraging people to seriously look at their food choices and its impacts, and providing support for plant-based eating, we can make a difference.
